What is the Twitter User ID Finder?

The Twitter User ID Finder converts an X (Twitter) username into the account's numeric user ID. You enter a @handle and get the ID with a copy button, the current profile URL, a permanent x.com/i/user link built from the ID, and the date X records as the account's creation date.

Every X account gets a numeric ID when it is created, and that number never changes, while the @handle can change at any time. Developer tools, ad platforms, bots and block lists often ask for the ID, but X doesn't print it on the profile page. The finder reads it from the same public profile data the page loads.

Early accounts have short IDs, such as 11348282 for NASA, which joined in 2007. Accounts created in recent years have much longer IDs, often 18 or 19 digits, so a long number is normal.

Who uses it

  • Developers using the X API

Many X API endpoints take a user ID rather than a handle. Look one up without writing code.

  • Lists that survive renames

Store IDs in a spreadsheet or block list so a handle change doesn't break it.

  • Checking account age

See the creation date when you judge whether an account is new or long established.

What this tool can't do

  • It works one username at a time.
  • Suspended and deleted accounts return no ID.
  • It finds account IDs, not post IDs. A post ID is the number after /status/ in a post link.
  • It can't turn an ID back into a username.
  • Up to 30 new lookups a day per visitor. For more, use the API.

If something goes wrong

User not found
Check the spelling. X handles use only letters, numbers and underscores, up to 15 characters.
The ID looks short
Accounts from X's early years have short IDs, such as NASA's 11348282. That is normal.
The handle has changed
Search X for the account's new handle, then look it up again. The ID stays the same.

Use it responsibly

The tool shows only what X shows to anyone who isn't logged in. Use what you see for research, planning and your own records, and respect people's privacy. Is this your account? Request removal.

Twitter User ID Finder FAQ

What is a Twitter user ID?

It is the permanent number X gives an account when it is created. The username can change; the ID stays the same for the life of the account.

How do I find my own X user ID?

Enter your own @handle here. X doesn't show the ID on your profile, but it is part of the public profile data.

Does it work with x.com links?

Yes. Paste x.com/username or twitter.com/username, or type the handle with or without the @.

Can I find the ID of a protected account?

Yes. Protected accounts hide their posts, but the user ID, name and picture are still public.

Is a user ID the same as a post ID?

No. A post ID is the long number after /status/ in a post link. This tool finds account IDs.

How do I see when an X account was created?

Look at the Created row. It shows the date X records for the account, taken from the same public data as the ID.

For developers

Need this for many links?

The same data as JSON from one request. Use it on hundreds of accounts from your own code, a spreadsheet or n8n.

curl -X POST https://api.scrapeeverything.com/v1/x/profile \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"username":"NASA"}'

Not a developer? Fill a Google Sheet or use the n8n workflow with the same API key.
