What is the Instagram User ID Finder?

The Instagram User ID Finder converts a username into the numeric ID Instagram uses for that account internally. You enter a username or profile link; it returns the user ID with a copy button, the username and profile links. The ID stays the same when the account changes its username.

Every Instagram account has a numeric ID that is set when the account is created. Usernames can be changed at any time, but the ID can't, which makes it the reliable key for spreadsheets, CRMs and scripts that follow accounts over time.

The tool reads the ID from the account's public profile data, the same data a logged-out browser loads. This is the public user ID. Meta's business and messaging APIs give the same account other, app-specific IDs, so keep the two apart in your data.

  • It converts usernames to IDs only. It can't look up a username from an ID.
  • It can't find accounts by name, email, phone number or photo.
  • IDs from Meta's Graph and messaging APIs are different numbers and are not shown.
