What the TikTok Video Scraper API does
The TikTok Video Scraper API returns a single public TikTok video by URL or ID: caption, publish time in ISO 8601, and the full set of engagement numbers TikTok shows: likes, comments, shares, plays and saves. It also returns the cover and animated cover, the duration in seconds, the author and the sound used in the video. That makes it the endpoint for campaign reporting, where saves and shares often say more than likes. Send the full video URL, or the numeric ID as a string; short share links such as vm.tiktok.com are not supported. There is no TikTok developer program, OAuth or proxy setup involved. Each request costs 1 credit, failed requests are refunded and cached repeats are free.

Limitations: Unofficial API: not affiliated with or endorsed by the platform. Public data only, as a logged-out visitor sees it. The videos endpoint returns the newest publicly visible videos (up to 12); private, removed or region-restricted videos are missing.
- Short share links (vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com, tiktok.com/t/...) are resolved to the video first.
- Send id as a string.
Questions
Do short share links work?
No. Short links (vm.tiktok.com, tiktok.com/t/...) are not supported. Use the full video URL or the numeric ID.
Why send the ID as a string?
TikTok video IDs are 19-digit numbers, too long for JSON numbers to hold exactly, so the API expects id as a string.
Does it return the comments?
It returns comment_count. Use the TikTok comments endpoint for the comments themselves.
How much does the TikTok Video Scraper API cost?
1 credit per successful request. Credits are bought in one-time packs and never expire. New accounts get 100 free credits. No payment details needed.
Am I charged for failed requests?
No. If the platform blocks the request, it times out or something fails on our side, the credits are refunded automatically. A definitive answer such as "this account does not exist" is billed because the lookup completed.
Can I re-read a result without paying again?
Yes. Send cache_days (1 to 14) and a repeat request for the same target within that window is served from your cache for free.
