What is the YouTube Profile Picture Downloader?

The YouTube Profile Picture Downloader saves a YouTube channel's profile picture, also called its avatar or channel icon. Enter the channel's @handle or link and you get the picture at the size YouTube's channel page loads, 900x900 pixels, with the measured size shown, round previews and a download button.

YouTube shows channel pictures as small circles, but the channel page loads a 900x900 square copy. The tool reads that copy from the public channel page as a logged-out visitor, measures it in your browser and lets you save it as a JPG. The previews show how it looks at 96, 64, 40 and 28 pixels.

The 900x900 copy is not always sharper than what the owner uploaded. When we checked on 27 October 2026, @NASA's original was larger than 900 pixels, while @MrBeast's was about 500 pixels, so that channel's 900-pixel copy is enlarged by YouTube. You get the file exactly as YouTube serves it; this tool does not upscale or edit it.

A profile picture belongs to the channel owner. Saving it to recover your own, to build a press list or to report an impersonator is common. Using it as your own branding or to pose as the channel is not.

Who uses it

  • Recovering your own picture

Lost the file you uploaded? Save the copy YouTube still serves for your channel.

  • Press and partner lists

Collect creators' pictures for a pitch deck, a campaign sheet or an event program, with their permission.

  • Spotting impersonators

Compare the picture of a suspicious channel with the official one before you report it.

What this tool can't do

  • It saves the 900x900 copy the channel page loads, not the original upload, which can be larger or smaller.
  • Video links and old /user/ or /c/ links are not accepted; use the @handle.
  • Terminated channels have no picture to show.
  • Up to 30 new lookups a day per visitor. For more, use the API.

If something goes wrong

Channel not found
Check the handle's spelling. It is the @name under the channel title, not the display name.
The picture looks soft
The owner uploaded a small image, so YouTube's 900x900 copy is enlarged from it. No tool can add detail that was never uploaded.
I pasted a video link
Open the channel from the video, then enter its @handle.
My link has /user/ or /c/ in it
Open it on YouTube and use the @handle the channel page shows.

YouTube Profile Picture Downloader FAQ

Enter the channel's @handle or link, press Get profile picture, then save the JPG.

What size is the downloaded picture?

900x900 pixels, the copy YouTube's channel page loads. The exact size is measured and shown under the image.

Why does the picture look blurry for some channels?

Which channels does it work with?

Any public channel, by @handle, channel link or channel ID. Terminated channels do not work.

Is it legal to download someone's profile picture?
