What is the YouTube Banner Downloader?

The YouTube Banner Downloader saves a YouTube channel's banner, the channel art across the top of its page. Enter the channel's @handle or link and you get the banner as YouTube's desktop channel page loads it, up to 2560x424 pixels, with its measured size, a download button and the channel avatar.

Channel owners upload one large 16:9 image, but YouTube shows only a wide band from the middle of it on computers, and phones crop it further. The channel page loads that band at up to 2560x424 pixels. When the upload is smaller, the band is smaller too: NASA's measured 2048x339 on 27 October 2026. The tool reads the band from the public channel page as a logged-out visitor and shows its size before you save it.

So you get the banner as visitors see it on a computer, not the full 16:9 file the owner uploaded. That is the right file for checking how a channel presents itself, or for keeping a copy of what your own page showed before a redesign. If you need the full artwork, ask the owner for it.

Banners are artwork owned by the channel. Use downloads for reference, research or your own channel, and ask the owner before you reuse one anywhere else.

Who uses it

  • Keeping a copy of your own banner

Save what your channel page shows before you replace the banner.

  • Design research

Collect banners from channels in your niche to compare layouts, colors and how they use the space.

  • Brand and partnership checks

Confirm a channel's current branding before a collaboration, or spot an impersonator using a brand's art.

What this tool can't do

  • It saves the desktop band, not the full 16:9 image the owner uploaded.
  • Channels without a banner show a message instead of an image.
  • Video links and old /user/ or /c/ links are not accepted; use the @handle.
  • Up to 30 new lookups a day per visitor. For more, use the API.

If something goes wrong

This channel has no banner
The owner has not set one, so there is nothing to save.
Channel not found
Check the @handle's spelling, or paste the channel link instead.
The banner is narrower than 2560 pixels
The owner uploaded a smaller image, so YouTube's band is smaller too.
My link has /user/ or /c/ in it
Open it on YouTube and use the @handle the channel page shows.

How do I download a YouTube channel banner?

Enter the channel's @handle or link, press Get banner, then press Download banner.

What size is the downloaded banner?

Up to 2560x424 pixels, the band YouTube's desktop channel page loads. Channels with smaller uploads give a smaller band, such as 2048x339.

Can I get the full 16:9 banner image?

No. The tool saves the band visitors see on a computer, not the full image the owner uploaded. Ask the owner if you need the original artwork.

Why does the banner look cut off?

YouTube crops the uploaded image to a wide band on computers and crops it further on phones. What you download matches the desktop view.

Is it legal to download someone's banner?

The artwork belongs to the channel owner. Use it for reference, and ask before reusing it. This is not legal advice. Read our copyright policy.

Can I download the channel's profile picture too?

Yes. The Avatar button saves it, and the YouTube Profile Picture Downloader shows it larger with round previews. YouTube Profile Picture Downloader.

Will the channel know I downloaded it?

No. The tool reads the public channel page without logging in.
