What the YouTube Channel Scraper API does
The YouTube Channel Scraper API returns a YouTube channel as JSON: channel ID, handle, title, description, keywords, subscriber and video counts, family-safe flag, channel URL, the largest avatar and banner images and the number of countries where the channel is available. Send an @handle, a channel ID (UC...) or a channel URL. Subscriber and video counts are YouTube's rounded figures (for example 521M), returned both as parsed numbers and as the original text, so you always know what YouTube displayed. There is no Google Cloud project, OAuth or daily quota to plan around. Legacy /user/ and /c/ links are not supported. Each lookup costs 1 credit, and repeat lookups within your cache window are free.

Use cases
- Shortlist YouTube creators by subscriber count and channel keywords.
- Resolve @handles to channel IDs and enrich channel lists with descriptions and images.
- Track channel growth with regular snapshots of subscriber and video counts.
Limitations: Unofficial API: not affiliated with or endorsed by the platform. Public data only, as a logged-out visitor sees it. Counts can be YouTube's rounded figures; comments are top-level only; transcripts exist only for videos with captions.
- Subscriber and video counts are YouTube's rounded figures (for example 521M).
- Legacy /user/ and /c/ links are not supported. Use the @handle or the channel ID (UC...).
Questions
Are subscriber counts exact?
No. YouTube shows rounded figures (for example 521M), so subscriber_count is approximate. subscriber_count_text holds the original text.
Do /c/ and /user/ links work?
No. Legacy /user/ and /c/ links are not supported. Use the @handle or the channel ID (UC...).
Does it include the channel's videos?
No. Use the YouTube videos endpoint for the latest uploads.
How much does the YouTube Channel Scraper API cost?
1 credit per successful request. Credits are bought in one-time packs and never expire. New accounts get 100 free credits. No payment details needed.
Am I charged for failed requests?
No. If the platform blocks the request, it times out or something fails on our side, the credits are refunded automatically. A definitive answer such as "this account does not exist" is billed because the lookup completed.
Can I re-read a result without paying again?
Yes. Send cache_days (1 to 14) and a repeat request for the same target within that window is served from your cache for free.
