How to download Spotify cover art

  1. Step 1

    Copy a song link

    In Spotify, tap the three dots next to a song, then Share and Copy link. For an album cover, use any song from that album.

  2. Step 2

    Paste it and press Get cover

    The cover appears with its pixel size, the song title, artists and release date.

  3. Step 3

    Save the image

    Press Download cover to save the JPG, or open the image in a new tab.

What is the Spotify Cover Art Downloader?

The Spotify Cover Art Downloader shows the cover image of a Spotify song and lets you save it. You paste a song link and get the artwork of the album or single the song belongs to at 640 x 640 pixels, the largest size Spotify serves on the web, with the title, artists and release date.

Spotify stores each cover in three square sizes: 64, 300 and 640 pixels. The tool picks the 640-pixel file and measures it after it loads, so the size printed under the cover is the size you save.

Songs don't have their own artwork on Spotify. A song shows the cover of the album or single it was released on, so to get an album's cover you paste a link to any song from that album. Larger masters, such as 3000-pixel files, aren't on Spotify; labels sometimes publish them in press kits.

What this tool can't do

  • 640 x 640 is the largest size Spotify has, and the tool can't make it bigger.
  • It takes song links. Album, playlist, artist and podcast links aren't supported here.
  • Short links (spotify.link, spoti.fi) aren't accepted.
  • No audio or song preview is downloaded.
  • Up to 30 new lookups a day per visitor. For more, use the API.

If something goes wrong

An album link doesn't work
Paste the link of any song on the album instead. It returns the same cover.
A short link fails
Open the spotify.link or spoti.fi link in your browser and copy the open.spotify.com/track/ address.
The release date looks wrong
Spotify lists the date of the album or single the song is on, which can differ from when the song first came out.

What resolution is Spotify cover art?

640 x 640 pixels is the largest size Spotify serves. It also keeps 300 and 64 pixel copies for small screens.

Can I get a 3000 x 3000 cover?

Not from Spotify, which has no file bigger than 640 x 640. Labels and artists sometimes share larger artwork in press kits.

How do I get an album cover?

Paste a link to any song from the album. Every song on an album uses the album's cover.

Does it work with playlist covers?

Not on this page. The Spotify Playlist Exporter shows a playlist's cover along with its song list. Spotify Playlist Exporter.

Why does the release date differ from what I remember?

Spotify shows the release date of the album or single the song sits on. A song first released as a single can show the later album's date.

Can I use the cover in my video or shop?

Covers belong to labels and artists. Personal use is one thing; anything you publish or sell needs the rights holder's permission.
