What is the TikTok Transcript Generator?

The TikTok Transcript Generator is a free tool that turns the captions of a TikTok video into text. Paste a video link and you get every caption line with its start time, the full text to copy, and downloads as TXT or as SRT and VTT subtitle files. You can switch between the caption languages the video has.

The transcript comes from the captions attached to the video: ones the creator added, or the automatic captions TikTok makes from speech. The tool reads the video's caption file as a logged-out visitor and splits it into timestamped lines. It doesn't transcribe audio itself, so a video without captions has no transcript.

Every caption language the video has appears in the language menu, and tracks TikTok generated are marked (auto). The free tool shows up to 20,000 characters, enough for most TikTok videos; the API returns the full text.

How to turn a TikTok video into text

    On tiktok.com, copy the video page's address. From the app, open the share link in your browser first, then copy the full address.

Why does a video show no transcript?

Only videos with captions, added by the creator or generated by TikTok, have a transcript. The tool reads captions and doesn't transcribe audio itself.

Can I download the transcript as subtitles?

Yes. Download .srt or .vtt files built from the caption timings, ready for video editors and players.

Can I get the transcript in another language?

If the video has captions in other languages, pick one from the language menu. Tracks TikTok generated are marked (auto).

Can I use a vm.tiktok.com share link?

Yes. Links from the app's Copy link button, including vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com and tiktok.com/t/ links, are resolved to the full video first.

How accurate are TikTok's automatic captions?

Usually good for clear speech and weaker with music, accents and names, so check quotes against the video.

Is the whole transcript shown?

Up to 20,000 characters, which covers most TikTok videos. The API returns the full text of longer ones.
