What is the TikTok Song Finder?

The TikTok Song Finder is a free tool that tells you which song or sound a TikTok video uses. Paste the video link and it shows the sound's title and artist, plays the sound, and opens searches for it on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and SoundCloud. It reads TikTok's own sound data rather than listening to the audio, so background noise doesn't matter.

Every TikTok video is linked to a sound, and TikTok stores that sound's title and author with the video. The tool reads them from the video's public embed data as a logged-out visitor, so the answer is the name TikTok itself uses for the track.

When the result says Original audio, the creator recorded or uploaded the sound. TikTok has no song title for it then, even if music plays in the background, so the tool shows the creator's name and skips the music app searches. You can still play the sound here and try a recognition app, or read the video's comments, where people often name the song.

Sped-up, slowed and remixed versions are often separate sounds with the uploader's own title. If the searches find nothing, search for the main words of the title without 'sped up' or 'remix'.

Who uses it

  • Naming a song you heard

Get the track behind a dance, an edit or an ad without asking in the comments.

  • Creators picking audio

Check the exact sound name before you search for it in TikTok's sound library.

  • Playlist curators and DJs

Track down songs that are spreading on TikTok and add them to your playlists.

  • Marketers

Note which songs a competitor's videos or a trend's videos use.

What this tool can't do

  • It reads TikTok's sound label and doesn't recognize music by listening, so songs inside an original sound can't be named.
  • It needs a video link; sound page links (tiktok.com/music/…) aren't accepted.
  • The music app buttons search by title and artist; they can't confirm the song is on each service.
  • Private and deleted videos can't be checked.
  • Up to 30 new lookups a day per visitor. For more, use the API.

If something goes wrong

It says Original audio
The creator uploaded the sound. Play it here and use a music recognition app, or check the video's comments for the song name.
The music apps find nothing
The sound may be a remix or sped-up edit with its own title. Search for the main words of the title on their own.
“TikTok did not name a sound for this video”
TikTok returned no sound data for this video. Try another video that uses the same sound.

TikTok Song Finder FAQ

What song is this TikTok?

Paste the video link above. The tool shows the title and artist TikTok gives the sound, with buttons to search for it on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and SoundCloud.

What does original sound mean on TikTok?

The creator recorded or uploaded the audio instead of choosing a track from TikTok's library. It can still contain a song, but TikTok doesn't name it.

Does it work with sped-up or remixed songs?

It shows the sound exactly as TikTok names it. Remixes often carry the uploader's own title, so search for the original song title next.

Can I find a TikTok song without the app?

Yes. The tool works in any browser, without the TikTok app or an account.

How is this different from Shazam?

Shazam listens to the audio. This tool reads the sound name TikTok attached to the video, so it's exact for library sounds but can't name songs inside original sounds.

Can I download the song?

You can save the sound's audio file for personal use with the Audio file button or the TikTok MP3 Downloader. Publishing it in your own videos needs a license for commercial songs. TikTok MP3 Downloader.
