What the Pinterest Pin Scraper API does

The Pinterest Pin Scraper API returns a single public pin by URL or ID: title, description, alt text, dominant color, the largest image with its dimensions, video URL and duration for video pins, the outbound link and domain, creation date, the board it is saved to, the pinner and the full set of engagement counts: repins, reactions, comments, favorites and shares. Send a pin URL, a bare pin ID, or the ID as a string in id. Single pins carry more counts than feed and search results, so this is the call for measuring how one pin performs. No Pinterest developer account is needed. Each request costs 1 credit, failed requests are refunded and repeat reads within your cache window are free.

Limitations: Unofficial API: not affiliated with or endorsed by the platform. Public data only, as a logged-out visitor sees it. Feeds and search return up to 50 pins per request; pins Pinterest hides from logged-out visitors are missing.

Why send the ID as a string?

Pin IDs are large numbers, so send id as a string, or pass the pin URL.

Which counts are included?

repin_count, reaction_count, comment_count, favorite_count and share_count, when Pinterest shows them.

Does it return the destination link?

Yes. outbound_link is the pin's destination URL, and outbound_domain its domain.

How much does the Pinterest Pin Scraper API cost?

Am I charged for failed requests?
