What the Twitch Channel Scraper API does
The Twitch Channel Scraper API returns a Twitch channel as JSON: user ID, login and display name, description, account creation time, Partner and Affiliate status, follower count, profile and banner images, and whether the channel is live right now. When the channel is live, is_live is true and stream holds the current broadcast; when it is offline, last_broadcast describes the previous one. Send a Twitch login name or a channel URL. You do not need a Twitch developer app or OAuth token. It fits live-status checks, streamer vetting and enriching lists of creators with follower counts and partner status. Each lookup costs 1 credit; failed requests are refunded and repeat lookups within your cache window are free.

Use cases
- Check whether streamers are live for alerts and dashboards.
- Vet streamers by followers and Partner or Affiliate status before sponsorships.
- Enrich creator databases with Twitch bios, images and account age.
Limitations: Unofficial API: not affiliated with or endorsed by the platform. Public data only, as a logged-out visitor sees it. Videos and clips are limited to what the channel shows publicly (up to 50 per request).
- When the channel is live, is_live is true and stream holds the broadcast. Otherwise last_broadcast describes the previous one.
Questions
Can I check if a channel is live?
Yes. is_live is true while the channel streams, and stream holds the current broadcast.
What if the channel is offline?
stream is null and last_broadcast describes the most recent broadcast.
Does it include videos or clips?
No. Use the Twitch videos endpoint for past broadcasts and highlights, and the clips endpoint for top clips.
How much does the Twitch Channel Scraper API cost?
1 credit per successful request. Credits are bought in one-time packs and never expire. New accounts get 100 free credits. No payment details needed.
Am I charged for failed requests?
No. If the platform blocks the request, it times out or something fails on our side, the credits are refunded automatically. A definitive answer such as "this account does not exist" is billed because the lookup completed.
Can I re-read a result without paying again?
Yes. Send cache_days (1 to 14) and a repeat request for the same target within that window is served from your cache for free.
