TL;DR: The right ScrapeCreators alternative depends on which platforms you scrape. Stay with ScrapeCreators if you need LinkedIn, Reddit or Threads, because we don't cover them. For Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Telegram, Spotify, Pinterest or Twitch, Scrape Everything lists lower list prices per 1,000 credits at the 25,000 and 500,000 credit pack sizes (credits per call differ between vendors, so check your endpoints) and refunds requests that fail on our side.
Every price on this page comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked on October 22, 2026. Prices may change, so confirm them before you buy. We make Scrape Everything, which means you should check our numbers as hard as theirs.
Should you stay with ScrapeCreators or switch?
This table uses only facts stated further down the page. Find your row.
| Your situation | Recommendation | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You need LinkedIn, Reddit or Threads | Stay with ScrapeCreators | We don't cover these platforms |
| You want one vendor for the widest set of networks | Stay with ScrapeCreators | They list 38+ APIs; we have 42 endpoints across 9 platforms |
| Your work is Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Telegram, Spotify, Pinterest or Twitch | Consider switching | Lower list price per 1,000 credits at the 25k and 500k pack sizes; credits per call differ between vendors |
| Blocks and timeouts are a real share of your volume | Consider switching | We refund failures on our side (blocks, timeouts, 5xx); their pricing page doesn't state a policy |
| Your finance team can't pay with crypto | Check payment options before switching | We accept crypto payments only |
| You need LinkedIn or Reddit and also run heavy Instagram or TikTok jobs | Use both | Keep LinkedIn and Reddit there, move the overlap, compare bills after a month |
| Facebook is your main workload | Check our endpoint list first | We have one Facebook endpoint (profile) |
Product names are trademarks of their owners; we are not affiliated with them. Figures from each vendor's public pricing page, verified October 22, 2026. Spot an error? Email [email protected] and we correct it.
Running both is less work than it sounds. Our request shape is uniform, so a router in your code (if platform in {"linkedin", "reddit", "threads"} go one way, else the other) takes a few lines.
When should you stay with ScrapeCreators?
ScrapeCreators is a credit-based social media scraping API with a wide catalog of endpoints, including platforms we don't cover today such as LinkedIn, Reddit and Threads. That's how our ScrapeCreators comparison page sums them up.
Here's what they state on their own site:
- 38+ APIs, with LinkedIn, Reddit and Threads among them.
- Pay-as-you-go credit packs that never expire.
- An MCP server, so AI agents can call it directly.
- Cache hits that cost 0 credits.
If you want the widest set of networks from one vendor, they're a sensible pick. I'd rather tell you that here than have you sign up with us, discover there's no LinkedIn endpoint, and leave annoyed.
Our side of the line is short. Scrape Everything is a REST API for public social media data, returned as clean JSON, covering Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, Telegram, Spotify, Pinterest and Twitch.
"38+ APIs" and "42 endpoints" aren't the same unit, so compare the endpoint lists you'd actually call. Ours are in the OpenAPI spec and the scrapers index.
How does ScrapeCreators pricing compare at the same pack sizes?
A credit based scraping API is a service where you buy a pack of credits up front and each API call spends a fixed number of them, instead of paying a monthly subscription. ScrapeCreators, SociaVault and Scrape Everything all work this way, and all three say the credits never expire.
Both ScrapeCreators and we sell a 25,000 credit pack and a 500,000 credit pack. That makes the list prices easy to line up, though a credit may not buy the same call on both sides:
| Pack size | ScrapeCreators | List price per 1,000 credits | Scrape Everything | List price per 1,000 credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25,000 credits | $47 | $1.88 | $39 (Builder) | $1.56 |
| 500,000 credits | $497 | $0.99 | $449 (Scale) | $0.90 |
| Free to start | 100 credits (plus up to 7,000 bonus credits for listed actions) | 100 credits, no payment details | ||
| Expiry | Never | Never |
Sources: ScrapeCreators pricing and our pricing page, both as of October 22, 2026. List price per 1,000 credits; credits per call differ between vendors. Prices may change.
We also sell a size they don't list: Growth at $119 for 100,000 credits ($1.19 per 1k). Enterprise starts at 1M+ credits on request.
A cheaper credit isn't automatically a cheaper request. On our side most endpoints cost 1 credit, and some feed and search endpoints cost 2 or 3 (the Instagram photos and reels feeds are 2, Instagram reels search is 3). Other vendors price their endpoints their own way. The per-1,000 numbers above are per credit, and your bill depends on your endpoint mix.
What does a typical monthly workload cost?
Say you pull 50,000 Instagram profiles a month at 1 credit each, plus 10,000 pages of the Instagram reels feed at 2 credits each. That's 70,000 credits.
- On Scrape Everything, one Growth pack ($119 for 100,000 credits) covers it and leaves 30,000 credits for next month. Three Builder packs ($117 for 75,000) also work.
- On ScrapeCreators, three 25,000 packs cost $141 for 75,000 credits. That assumes the same calls cost the same number of credits there, so check their price for each endpoint you use.
At a million credits a year, two Scale packs cost $898 with us and two of their 500,000 packs cost $994 at list price per credit; credits per call differ between vendors, so your real totals depend on your endpoints.
For your own mix, plug the numbers into the pricing calculator. For more vendors side by side, see social media scraping API pricing compared.
What happens to failed requests, cache hits and rate limits?
Sticker price is half the bill. The other half is what you pay for calls that return nothing.
| Billing rule | ScrapeCreators | Scrape Everything |
|---|---|---|
| Failures on the vendor's side | Not stated on their pricing page | Refunded automatically |
| Repeat reads from cache | Cache hits cost 0 credits (stated on their site) | Free, cache window up to 14 days via cache_days |
| Rate limits | Not covered in our comparison data; check their docs | 60 requests/min and 5 concurrent until purchases total $39, then 300/min and 20 concurrent |
"Not stated" means exactly that. It doesn't mean they charge for failures. Ask them if it matters for your budget.
Our rule is specific. Credits are reserved when a request starts. If it fails on our side (502 TARGET_BLOCKED, 502 PARSE_ERROR, 502 PROXY_CONNECT_FAILED, 503 NO_PROXY_AVAILABLE, 504 TIMEOUT, 500 INTERNAL_ERROR), the reservation is refunded before the response goes out. Validation errors (400), auth errors (401), unknown endpoints, 402 and 429 are never charged.
To put a number on it: if 3% of a 500,000 credit run failed on our side, that's 15,000 credits back in your balance, about $13.50 at the Scale rate.
The one that surprises people is the 404. NOT_FOUND, PRIVATE_ACCOUNT and AGE_RESTRICTED are charged, because they're a definitive answer about the target and we did the work to get it. Retrying returns the same answer and charges you again, so cache those on your side or send cache_days. The details live in the errors docs, credits docs, caching docs and rate limits docs.
What other ScrapeCreators alternatives are there?
We're not the only option, and for some workloads we're not the best one. These are the vendors on our comparison hub, with figures from their pricing pages as of October 22, 2026 (prices may change):
| Vendor | Pricing model | Entry price (list price; credits and units differ between vendors) | Free tier | Pick it if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SociaVault | One-time packs, credits never expire | $29 for 6,000 credits (about $4.83 per 1k) | 50 free credits | You need a platform on their 25+ list that isn't on ours |
| EnsembleData | Monthly subscription, daily unit allowance | $100/month for 1,500 units/day | 50 units/day | You run a steady daily workload or need Threads, Reddit or Snapchat |
| Apify | Monthly platform plan plus per-Actor pricing | Starter $19/month | $5 of usage per month | You need sites beyond social media, with scheduling and storage |
| Bright Data | Per record, or monthly plans | $1.50 per 1,000 records | 5,000 records/month | You need enterprise contracts, datasets or proxy infrastructure |
| Scrape Everything | One-time packs, credits never expire | $39 for 25,000 credits | 100 free credits | Your platforms are on our list of 9 |
ScrapeCreators vs Apify
Different shapes of product. Apify is a general scraping and automation platform where social scrapers are "Actors", many built by third parties and priced separately. ScrapeCreators and Scrape Everything are single APIs with one price list and one error format. Need non-social sites too? Apify fits better. See our Apify comparison.
Is Scrape Everything a SociaVault alternative too?
Yes, with the same coverage caveat. SociaVault's larger packs are $79 for 20,000, $199 for 75,000 and $399 for 200,000 credits (about $2.00 per 1,000 credits), per their pricing page. Their page doesn't state a failed-request policy or how repeat reads are billed. The SociaVault comparison page lines the two up.
Is scraping public social media data legal?
We can't give you a legal answer. We can tell you how we operate: Scrape Everything returns public data only, with no logins and no private accounts, and we're not affiliated with any of the platforms. Public data can still be personal data. If you store profiles of people in the EU, rules like the GDPR apply to what you do with it. Our longer write-up is is scraping public social media data legal?
How do I migrate endpoints to Scrape Everything?
Every request is POST https://api.scrapeeverything.com/v1/<platform>/<action> with a JSON body and a Bearer token. No query strings, no per-platform base URLs, so migration is mostly a find-and-replace in your HTTP wrapper.
- Sign in with Google or GitHub at /login and copy your key (it starts with
ssk_live_). - Export it:
export SCRAPEEVERYTHING_API_KEY=ssk_live_... - List the endpoints you call today and find the matches in the API reference. If one is LinkedIn, Reddit or Threads, keep that part on ScrapeCreators.
- Move one endpoint first, usually a profile lookup, and compare the JSON fields your code reads.
- Add
cache_days(1 to 14) wherever you re-read the same targets, so repeat calls inside that window cost 0 credits. - Branch on the stable
codefield in errors, not onmessage, which may change.
Here's the Instagram profile endpoint with cURL. It costs 1 credit.
curl -X POST https://api.scrapeeverything.com/v1/instagram/profile \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SCRAPEEVERYTHING_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"username": "example_user"}'A trimmed response looks like this (placeholder values):
{
"success": true,
"data": {
"id": "1234567890",
"username": "example_user",
"full_name": "Example User",
"biography": "Placeholder bio",
"external_url": null,
"is_private": false,
"is_verified": false,
"is_business_account": true,
"category_name": "Product/service",
"follower_count": 12034,
"following_count": 312,
"post_count": 418
},
"meta": {
"request_id": "req_example0000000000",
"scraper": "instagram.profile",
"cached": false,
"credits_charged": 1,
"credits_remaining": 99
}
}Errors use the same envelope with success: false, and code sits at the top level:
{
"success": false,
"message": "User not found",
"code": "NOT_FOUND",
"request_id": "req_example0000000001",
"meta": { "credits_charged": 1, "credits_remaining": 98 }
}Same pattern in Python for a TikTok profile, with a 3-day cache window. It retries the failures we refund and waits out 429s using the RateLimit-Reset header. The 90 second timeout is deliberate: a request can take up to a minute while we retry through other proxies. Needs requests.
import os
import time
import requests
API = "https://api.scrapeeverything.com"
HEADERS = {"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SCRAPEEVERYTHING_API_KEY']}"}
REFUNDED = {500, 502, 503, 504} # failures on our side: credits come back
def scrape(path: str, body: dict, attempts: int = 3) -> dict:
attempts = max(attempts, 1)
for i in range(attempts):
r = requests.post(f"{API}{path}", json=body, headers=HEADERS, timeout=90)
last_try = i == attempts - 1
if r.status_code == 429 and not last_try:
time.sleep(int(r.headers.get("RateLimit-Reset", "5"))) # 429 is never charged
continue
if r.status_code in REFUNDED and not last_try:
time.sleep(2 ** i) # refunded, so the retry costs nothing extra
continue
try:
payload = r.json()
except ValueError:
raise RuntimeError(f"{r.status_code}: response was not JSON") from None
if not payload.get("success"):
raise RuntimeError(f"{r.status_code} {payload.get('code')}: {payload.get('message')}")
return payload
res = scrape("/v1/tiktok/profile", {"username": "example_user", "cache_days": 3})
user = res["data"]
print(user["username"], user["follower_count"], user["video_count"])
print("charged:", res["meta"]["credits_charged"], "cached:", res["meta"]["cached"])The TikTok data object carries user_id, username, follower_count, like_count, video_count and region, among others. Run it twice within three days and the second call comes back with "cached": true and "credits_charged": 0.
YouTube transcripts follow the same shape. Send url or id, and optionally lang. Yes, the example is that video.
curl -X POST https://api.scrapeeverything.com/v1/youtube/transcript \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SCRAPEEVERYTHING_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"url": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ", "lang": "en"}'You get video_id, language, available_languages, the joined text and timed segments. It's 1 credit per video, however long it runs.
Rather not write HTTP code? The same endpoints work through our MCP server (@scrapeeverything/mcp, listed in the official MCP Registry), the CLI (npx scrapeeverything), an n8n node (n8n-nodes-scrapeeverything) and Agent Skills. New to MCP? The official Model Context Protocol introduction explains how it connects AI apps to external tools.
How can I try it without paying?
Sign up and you get 100 free credits, no payment details needed. That's enough to run the profile and transcript calls above against your own targets and diff the JSON with what you get today. If you buy a pack later, payment is by crypto. You can also earn +1,000 credits by writing a G2 review, any rating, as long as you disclose it.
Your next step: pick the one endpoint you call most on ScrapeCreators, run it here 100 times, and compare the bill.
FAQ
Is Scrape Everything cheaper than ScrapeCreators per credit?
At list price per 1,000 credits, at the two pack sizes both vendors sell, yes: $39 vs $47 for 25,000 credits and $449 vs $497 for 500,000, as of October 22, 2026, though credits per call differ between vendors. Per request, it depends on how each vendor prices the endpoints you use, so run your mix through the pricing calculator.
Does Scrape Everything support LinkedIn, Reddit or Threads?
No. We cover Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, Telegram, Spotify, Pinterest and Twitch. For LinkedIn, Reddit or Threads, ScrapeCreators is the better choice today.
Is there a free ScrapeCreators alternative?
Not free forever, but several vendors let you test without paying, as of October 22, 2026: Scrape Everything gives 100 free credits, SociaVault 50 free credits, EnsembleData 50 units per day, Apify $5 of usage per month and Bright Data 5,000 records per month. ScrapeCreators itself starts you with 100 credits and lists ways to claim up to 7,000 more.
Are failed requests charged?
On Scrape Everything, failures on our side (blocked by the platform, timeouts, 5xx) are refunded automatically. A 404 for an account that doesn't exist, is private or is age-restricted is charged. ScrapeCreators doesn't state a failed-request policy on its pricing page.
Does Scrape Everything scrape private accounts?
No. We return public data only: no logins, no private accounts. A private Instagram profile returns only the public subset of fields, with the rest set to null. For ScrapeCreators' policy, check their documentation.
